Session: User Portals and Applications

This is a session of the GEOSS Architecture Workshop

The GEO Secretariat is defining an Establishment Process for the Portal, Clearinghouse and Registries.

User access to GEOSS

Users can access the GEOSS IOC functionality through the GEOSS Web Portal Candidates, Community Portals and Decision Support Clients.

Portal Candidates

Several candidates for the GEO Web Portal have been established

Several demonstrations portray the portal functionality.

The status of the Portal development was reported in the Core Architecture Implementation Report The report provides descriptions of the implementations that have been achieved to date as well providing recommendations on how the implementations should continue.

Portal process

The GEO Secretariat is developing a process regarding moving toward a GEO Web Portal.

Workshop Session

During the workshop, a recap of the progress of the GEO Web Portals, Community Portals and User applications will be discussed. Topics include development, testing and recommendations. Plans for the next phase of portal evaluation and development will be discussed.
